This online PGCE programme is an intensive, comprehensive course designed to provide educators with a robust understanding of modern pedagogical practices within a European context. Comprising ten interconnected modules, it covers European pedagogical frameworks, cross-cultural curriculum development, technology-enhanced pedagogy, inclusive education, instructional strategies, classroom management, professional ethics, research methods, career counselling, and AI in education. It is particularly suitable for those who aspire to work in education settings within the EU and EEA.
This is a programme submitted for accreditation with the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) — application dated 1st December 2025. Assessment combines formative (feedback-based, ungraded but mandatory) and summative (graded) methods for each module.
Minimum pass mark: 50%, required in the overall summative assessment per module. Learners who don’t achieve the pass mark may be eligible for one reassessment (resubmission of the failed assignment, or a new equivalent assessment); the maximum grade achievable after reassessment is capped at the pass mark. Learners who fail reassessment must repeat the module or follow institutional progression regulations.
Grading scale: A (Excellent) 70–100%; B (Good) 60–69%; C (Satisfactory) 50–59%; F (Fail) 0–49%.
Tutors/lecturers should normally hold an MQF Level 7 (Master’s) qualification or higher in Education, Pedagogy, or a related field, with 3–5 years’ relevant teaching experience, subject-specific expertise, strong digital literacy, and English proficiency sufficient to deliver lectures and provide academic feedback.
